District Governor Ramesh Ferris celebrates the district's membership growth and calls on members to invite new individuals, celebrate current members, and support new clubs to ensure Rotary's legacy of service continues.
All Rotarians are invited to attend the Waterton Glacier International Peace Park Assembly on September 12-13, 2025, an event celebrating peace with reasonable costs.
On July 10, 2025, Arch Enterprises celebrated the dedication of a Rotary Peace Pole, a generous donation from Ivan Docker and his family, featuring a ceremony with Indigenous blessings, local dignitaries, and Rotary leaders.
The event fostered community spirit with a greenhouse sale and an art walk, raising proceeds directly for artists supported by Arch Enterprises.
The lure of freshly-baked sourdough cinnamon buns attracted more than 125 runners and walkers to Edmonton’s river valley on Saturday morning, August 9 for the Rotary Club of Edmonton Riverview’s second annual Cinnamon Bun Fun Run.
The morning began with a 1K little cinnamon bun kids run, followed by 5 and 10K runs and walks. Participants were cheered on by the Polio Moose from the Rotary Club of St. Albert.
Each runner and walker received a finisher’s medal and a sourdough cinnamon bun from Freson Bros.
Funds raised from this event will be donated to PolioPlus to help in the campaign to eradicate polio

St. Albert Ribfest Serves Up 'Gold Standard' Event
The Rotary Club of St. Albert held its annual Ribfest on August 8-10 at the Century Casino. Featured teams from the Western Canada Ribfest Tour included Billy Bones BBQ, Blazin' BBQ and Buckeye BBQ with delicious ribs, chicken and cornbread. Enthusiastic crowds enjoyed the beer gardens and live entertainment throughout the weekend that featured headliners Mourning Wood and the Party Darts. With a free family fun zone, there was something for everyone.
According to Edward Bonvie, the lead for the Western Canada Ribfest tour, our event was “the best run event that they've ever had” and that the St. Albert Ribfest was the “Gold Standard” of Ribfests.
The event has become hugely popular, not just in St. Albert but for residents of Edmonton and surrounding municipalities. It was best noted as follows: “We're bringing community together, kids are playing and laughing, and we're having a lot of fun. We did this for the community.”
Many thanks to everyone who participated, from the Ribfest Committee, Rotarians, spouses, friends of the club and volunteers from the community who participated to make this event the success that it was. See you all in 2026!!!
