The Riverview Club has been a long time supporter of WISEST (Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science and Technology). Today we had Fervone Goings, the WISEST Team Lead, speak to members about their successes in changing the demographics by increasing the number females in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Through multiple programs aimed encouraging females into these professions, change is occurring. Approximately 22% of Engineering undergraduates at the University of Alberta are currrently female. This is up from about 2% from years ago. The progress is steady. Great job. Thanks for coming to share your success.
