This morning Wendy McDonald, Chief Operating Officer with Inclusion Alberta (IA), overviewed the work of her organization in facilitating employment opportunities (“real jobs for real pay”) for people with intellectual disabilities.
There is an 80 per cent unemployment rate for people with intellectual disabilities. Over the years, about 800 jobs have been created. Through IA’s partnership with Districts 5360 and 5370, Rotarians are allies in fostering openings in their own organizations and with employers in their networks. IA’s coordinators facilitate appropriate employer-employee matches and support employees and supervisors in the workplace. https://inclusionalberta.org
