Prisons and the incarceration of criminals, is something most of us would rather not think about. "Out of sight, and out of mind", for most of us. But Arlette Zinck, Executive Director of the Ephesus Project, explained the some of challenges that the criminal justice system faces, that she is trying to change. About three-quarters of federally sentenced individuals have some need for education, and 54% of the incarcerated population has less that a grade 10 education! And the "Re-Offence" rates are near 24%. Arlette's organization works to coordinate university studies with King's University for inmates to begin to change outcomes. Not only to reduce "re-offence" rates, but also to have released individuals re-integrate with meaningful employment. Inspiring work!
