Cheryl Feldstein, from the Edmonton Humane Society, shared her passion about animals and pets with Riverview members.
Cheryl's pet Gus, a recent EHS ambassador graduate, was adopted by Cheryl Feldstein in May 2014, and they have been best friends ever since. You can imagine his excitement when Cheryl started working at EHS as the communications officer last summer.
Gus would like you to know that Cheryl has been working and volunteering in the animal welfare field for 20 years, raising awareness and promoting understanding within the community for the animals we share the world with. She is the past executive director and current board member of WILDNorth, a past board member of the Alberta SPCA, past chair of the Animal Care and Control Advisory board. She has received a number of awards for her work including Distinguished Alumni from MacEwan University, Top 40 Under 40 from Edify Magazine and a Mitacs Research Award for her capstone interdisciplinary degree project at Royal Roads University on the human motivation for and effects of wildlife selfies on wildlife.
Cheryl shared with club members, the various programs that the EHS offers. In particular, adoption services, education and training (for both pets and people) as well as many other services needed by pet owners.
