Today we had two grateful recipients from Riverviews' "Youth Programs" attend our meeting. The first was Isla McDonald, one of our recipient of the $1000 East Glen Scholarship. Isla is currently completing grade 12 at East Glen Highschool and will be starting at the University of Alberta in September in the faculty of Science.
Our second guest was Iriana Oanica. Iriana participated in the "Adventures in Citizenship" program that is hosted by Ottawa Rotary Clubs. Iriana, along with 170 youth from all across Canada, spent 4 days in Ottawa, visiting the House of Parliament, meeting distinguished guests (including Greg Fergus, Speaker of the House of Commons) and going to the Canadian War Museum. This was a tremendous opportunity for Iriana and she enjoyed every moment.
