Estimates are that there are 2.5 million orphans in Uganda. Many of these children are left to wander the streets, hungry, lonely and afraid. The challenges they face are extreme. They are vulnerable to exploitation, abduction, human trafficking and child labour.
Our Lady of Kibeho (OLOK), provides the necessities of life and hope for a bright future for 98 girls. Julian Di Castri, Board Member for the OLOK Orphanage Foundation explained the successes and challenges facing the orphanage. One current project that Riverview is helping with, is the construction of a perimeter security wall (a government requirement). A great facility and organization, making a difference.
