November 7
Liz Massiah, psychologist, spoke of her experiences working with military members suffering from PTSD and trauma after serving in the Balkans and Afghanistan. She spoke of differences between these conflicts and the world wars when there was a clearly defined enemy and our nation was under threat. While there are services available for the particular needs of veterans, many are hesitant to access these services because of the stigma associated with mental illness. Thanks for Liz for joining our meeting and sharing her experiences on this topic.
