Mercy Ships is an amazing organization that has two hospital ships (the largest civilian hospital ships in the world) that serve those in need in Africa. One ship works on the west coast, the other on the east coast. The organization has been working in Africa since 1978 and have performed over 100,000 surgeries, over half a million dental procedures and trained 50,000+  local medical professionals. Dr. Richard Toupin and his wife Cathy (a nurse), have both worked multiple times on the ships. They shared their experiences working on the ship and the plans for the future.
