Hurricane Patricia

 

I want to appeal for help for the poor people who lost their homes and possessions, have no food or water, in the areas close to our condo in Mexico. The hurricane was a huge disaster and these people were hit head-on by 400 km winds and rain. To top it all off, there was another big rain storm on the weekend, and flooding everywhere. In fact, the road from the highway to where our condo is, is completely washed out. Glad that we are not there right now.

 

The local Rotary club that we go to when we are down there is trying to raise funds to help some of the really desperate people. There are two families in particular that they are wanting to help out. These families of 8 people each have lost the roof of their meagre homes, and most of their possessions. There is no work because the restaurants and stores in the area were washed out. There is no government assistance. It is very dire. There is no clean water and very little food. I hope that our club, and perhaps individual members, will be able to help in some small way.
