History is being made even more exciting!
The Vision: Fort Edmonton’s vision is to create and promote a world-class, internationally acclaimed living history experience; fulfilling the mission of connecting generations to Edmonton’s dynamic history by offering fun, unique, immersive experiences.
.Fort Edmonton Park is embarking upon an ambitious plan to expand its offerings to bring a world class historical park offering a memorable guest experience. Linking yesterday to today and tomorrow, including the following four (4) major projects:
- Further expansion of the 1920’s Midway Attractions
- Launching Canada’s largest, most interactive Indigenous Peoples’ Experience
- Expansion of the 1920 Street Hotel Selkirk (The Windsor & Albion Block)
- Reclaiming the train station as an interpretive space by creating a new Front Entry & Guest Services Area
All of these amazing upgrades and expansions cost money. Funds for this project will come from commitments from the three orders of Government, Corporations, “First Families” who have a long-standing interest in Fort Edmonton, Rotary Clubs of Edmonton, Associations, Foundations, and individuals and families who regularly support the fort. Fort Edmonton Park Capital Campaign projected cost is $162.8 million dollars.
“The Capital Campaign Cabinet is a collaborative effort of dedicated volunteers from both Board of Directors, the City, our Province, and our community stakeholders. We consider the expansion as the fulfillment of a dream to showcase to the citizens of Edmonton and visitors from around the world the amazing story of Edmonton, honouring our First Nations, early Fort Edmonton settlers, and the wide variety of “city builders”.” ~Brian Batsch, Chair of the Capital Campaign Cabinet Fort Edmonton Foundation
