District Governor Jeanette Bancarz

Jeanette Bancarz is the 2026–2027 Governor of Rotary District 5370, serving Northern Alberta, parts of British Columbia and Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, and Yukon. She carries forward Rotary International President Yinka Babalola's message to Create Lasting Impact.

Raised in northern Alberta, Jeanette has built her life around service, leadership, and helping others reach their potential. She believes meaningful impact is created through strong relationships, continuous improvement, and community building.

Jeanette's professional journey spans leadership roles in both the financial services and aviation sectors. After a 26-year career with ATB Financial, culminating as a District Manager supporting 19 branches across northern Alberta, she became President of Centennial Flight Centre Inc. in 2022. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about developing people, building strong teams, and helping organizations thrive.

A Rotarian since 2008, Jeanette is a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Edmonton Mayfield and a Past President of the Rotary Club of Fort McMurray. She has also served as an Assistant Governor and in numerous district leadership roles. A Major Donor and member of the PolioPlus Society, she is deeply committed to Rotary's mission and its ability to create lasting change.
Beyond Rotary, Jeanette has served on boards and committees at the local, provincial, and national levels. In 2016, following the Horse River wildfire, she was selected to chair the Wood Buffalo Recovery Committee, helping guide community recovery efforts during one of Canada's largest natural disasters.

As District Governor, Jeanette is leading with the message, "Strong Clubs. Meaningful Impact. Peace in Action." Her vision is to help clubs become places where people belong, leaders are developed, and service creates measurable and lasting impact. Through Club Visioning, the Rotary Impact Guide's Building Blocks framework, and Positive Peace Conversations, District 5370 will strengthen club culture, support purposeful action, and advance peacebuilding as a foundation for creating stronger communities.

Jeanette and her husband, Marc Hanatschek, have been partners in life for more than 30 years and share a deep commitment to service, community, and lifelong learning.
