Dear Fellow Rotarians,

For 25 years, the Rotary Employment Partnership has demonstrated what Rotary does best—using our relationships and leadership to create opportunities and change lives. Together, Rotarians and Inclusion Alberta have helped create nearly 1,000 jobs for people with intellectual disabilities—real jobs for real pay.

Today, the Partnership is at a crossroads. Provincial government funding for the Rotary Employment Partnership in Northern Alberta has ended, and without new funding, this important work cannot continue at its current level.

A generous Rotarian has stepped forward with a $50,000 donation as a challenge gift, giving us an incredible opportunity to raise the funds needed to sustain the Partnership. We are asking Rotary clubs across District 5370 to help us meet that challenge.

Clubs can help by making a financial contribution, promoting the campaign within their networks, and supporting our Rotary Employment Partnership Fundraiser on Thursday, October 1 at Back Nine Tavern & Grill in St. Albert. We would love to see Rotarians attend, bring friends and colleagues, and help us secure items for the silent auction. The evening will also include a 50/50 and chipping challenge.

This Partnership exists because Rotary believed people with intellectual disabilities deserve the opportunity to work and contribute to their communities. After 25 years and nearly 1,000 jobs, we can’t let that work end now.

Please share this message and the attached event information with your club and consider how your club can help us continue to make a difference.

Thank you for your support—and for 25 years of Rotary leadership.

Yours in Rotary,

Wendy McDonald
Chief Operating Officer (COO), Inclusion Alberta

Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, she collaborated with Rotary to expand access to books and support young readers, one story at a time. Dolly, thank you for reminding us that literacy opens doors. Your generosity and optimism will inspire generations to come.
