October is Economic & Community Development Month

October concentrates on community growth. Club members work to strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women, in our impoverished communities.

Nine Nations, One District: Our Inbound Exchange Students Are Here!
 
 

This weekend, in Grande Prairie at the Philip J Currie Dinosaur Museum, our inbound Rotary Exchange Students for District 5370, attend the annual Inbound Orientation with their Counsellors.

We have students from Italy, France, Mexico, Uganda, Denmark, Brazil, Germany, Austria and Japan.

The clubs hosting our students this year are, Edmonton, Athabasca, Dawson Creek, Edmonton Glenora, Grand Prairie, Grand Prairie Sunrise, Grande Prairie Swan City, St. Albert, Vermillion, and Westlock.

Rotary’s International Exchange Program is life changing for all students, inbound and outbound, and the Rotarians who have the opportunity  to work with the Exchange program and Rotarians who share this experience.

Hopefully as a Rotarian, you will get to spend some time with our amazing group of students this year!

On the Global Stage

Rotary and Polio Heroes Unite to End Polio Now.
During the United Nations General Assembly week in New York City, District Governor Ramesh Ferris met with Canada's Ambassador to the UN, Bob Rae, who personally thanked Rotary for its pivotal contributions to the global fight to #endpolio. Ambassador Rae affirmed Canada’s role as a strong global leader in the initiative and committed to encouraging other countries to support the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, underscoring the vital, high-level impact of Rotary's advocacy.
