Building Brighter Futures Through Education and Literacy
District Governor Jeanette Bancarz invites Rotary clubs to empower communities through education and literacy this month.
September is Basic Education and Literacy Month in Rotary, reminding us that education changes lives and literacy opens doors to opportunity, dignity, and peace.
Literacy is about far more than reading and writing. It is about giving people the tools to participate fully in their communities, pursue their aspirations, and build brighter futures for themselves and their families. Yet millions of children and adults around the world still face barriers to quality education and lifelong learning.
This month, I invite every club to reflect on how we can support learning in our communities and beyond. How can we help children develop a love of reading? How can we support youth and adults in building literacy and essential life skills? How can we partner with schools, libraries, educators, and community organizations to create greater opportunities for learning?
By investing in education and literacy, we empower individuals, strengthen communities, and help create a more peaceful and hopeful world.
Strong Clubs. Meaningful Impact. Peace in Action.
