Come join us for a fun, hands-on, beginner-level workshop on Sat, May 4 10 AM - 2:30 PM on the Microsoft Redmond Campus where we’ll explore physical computing with micro:bit and Arduino.
We will:

  • Discuss the benefits of physical computing as an inclusive introduction to computer science
  • Gain familiarity with the micro:bit or Arduino boards
  • Walk through step-by-step coding challenges and build projects together that you can use in your classroom or library.

There will be two tracks available – micro:bit for grades 1-5 and Arduino for grades 6-8.  4 Washington state STEM clock hours are available.   Attendees should bring a laptop with a standard USB port (type A) to the session.  Participants will keep the micro:bit or Arduino kit that they used for the workshop.   Lunch, snacks, and beverages will also be provided.  This is a beginner workshop - no prior experience required.

The price for the workshop is $12 for CSTA Puget Sound (aka PSCSTA) members, and $32 for non-members; you must be logged in using your CSTA credentials before registering for the event to receive the member price.   If you are not currently a member of PSCSTA, signing up as a national CSTA and PSCSTA member is free with instructions at  https://pugetsound.csteachers.org/page/join-csta-puget-sound
