Challenge your students to apply computational thinking to real-world problems by hosting a data jam! A data jam is a competition and/or exhibition in which students analyze data sets generated by scientists and share their results in creative ways. Project examples include songs, physical models, poetry, graphs, animations, photographs, etc. In this virtual “how to” workshop we will share model lessons for teaching students to analyze and visualize data, and then walk you through what the competition/exhibition looks like at the upper elementary, middle or high school level. We will close with ideas on where to find relevant data sets.
