Harris Williams from GraderThan will discuss a multi-year initiative, co-sponsored by CSforMA and MA DESE, that aims to bring quantum CS to K12. The group is currently recruiting high schools for the pilot program, which will be fully funded (resources and PD).

Grader Than is thrilled to announce the Quantum Educational Initiative, a groundbreaking program launched in partnership with the MA Dept. of Education, CSforMA, UMass, and other key organizations. This initiative will enhance your current CS pathway by incorporating Quantum Computing Science, along with dual enrollment opportunities and internships. We're inviting high schools to join our fully-funded pilot program, which includes resources, curriculum, and professional development. This multi-year effort aims to bring cutting-edge quantum computing to K12 education, ensuring Massachusetts stays globally competitive. All schools in MA are eligible, and we have 27 spots available for the pilot starting in Fall 2025.

Facilitator Harris Williams will share his story, about how a BC football player ended up as a Tech CEO, and then talk more about the Quantum Computing Science pilot opportunity.

This is a virtual session. Register to receive the Zoom link.

At the CSTA NE regional conference on Nov 2, Grader Than will host a follow-up 2-hour workshop where teachers will get hands-on experience writing and running code on quantum computers that operates faster than the speed of light through quantum entanglement (Yes, literally faster than the speed of light, not a figurative speech). It’s going to be amazing!
