How to Host a Hackathon

Interested in hosting a Hackathon at your school? Join us for help with the logistics, resources, themes, programming tools, teaching and learning goals, resources, and more needed to run an event with your students. This virtual workshop is a follow up to the December 12th Teacher Hackathon, although attendance at the earlier event is not required to participate in this session.
 
This workshop will be offered on three separate dates/times: February 4th (2-4pm), February 6th (9-11 am), and February 16th (4-6pm). The same content will be presented at each session. You should only attend one of the three sessions.

If you attended the December 12th Teacher Hackathon this workshop is part of your 10 contact hours required to receive PDPs.

Tentative agenda: 
  • Logistics: when, timing of the event, location, who, team size & formation, resources required to hack, swag and prizes.
  • Teaching and learning: objectives, languages, assessment, exemplars/examples, help/support, other considerations.
  • Presentations and project sharing: judging/grading, project sharing, project archiving.
