The Details:
The Plano Senior High School Computer Club invites you to our 11th annual Wildcat Winter Invitational
Programming Contest. It will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 8:00am to 1:30pm, and will consist of a programming packet and a UIL written test. The cost is $50 per team, including the programming contest, UIL written test, and lunch. Students must be accompanied by an adult sponsor.
WRITTEN CONTEST
Students will compete individually in the written contest. It will be in UIL format with UIL scoring.
The test will be supplied by apluscomputerscience.com.
PROGRAMMING CONTEST
• Teams will consist of one to three students each. Team members must be from the same school.
• Each team will be assigned to one computer station. Problems will be submitted through hackerrank.com. Students will have access to JCreator Pro, NetBeans, Eclipse and the Java API if they wish to use a different IDE other than Hackerrank's default one.
• Teams may bring one published reference book. No pre-written code is allowed.
• All input will be through System.in through hackerrank, and output will be to the System.out. All solutions must be in Java.
• The packet will be 12 problems. Each problem is worth the same amount of points. The team with the most points wins. Ties will be broken based on the times of correct problem submission.
• The Programming packet will be written by PSHS students.
DIVISIONS:
Students will compete as either Novice or Advanced. Their written division is independent of their team division. If any of the students on a team is considered advanced, the team will be considered advanced. In general, advanced students have completed AP Computer Science or have contest experience prior to this year.
Any team can participate as Advanced.
AWARDS
The top four teams in each division of the programming contest will receive trophies. Individuals on the first place programming teams will receive medals. The top six individuals in each division of the UIL contest will receive medals.

9:15am – 10:15am UIL written test
10:30am – 12:30pm Programming contest
12:30pm Pizza lunch
1:00pm Awards Presentation
LOCATION
Plano Senior High School is located on the northeast corner of Park and Independence. Busses should drop students off at the circle drive on Independence. There is parking in this area as well. The contest will be in building B, downstairs.
