Micro:bit Training - Equip Your Genius
The University of Arizona Data Sciences Academy, in partnership with CSTA-Arizona, is excited to announce the Equip Your Genius: Parallax Training in Micro:bit event happening Sunday, December 3rd starting at 11am. We will convene at the University of Arizona main campus.
 
This event is primarily for K-14 classroom teachers of any discipline. We will focus on how to use the micro:bit device - a small physical device with buttons and an grid of LEDs - in a variety of contexts and subject areas. You do not need to already have a device to participate.

Workshop for Native Elementary Teachers
Are you a Native American teacher who works with Native American students? Interested in learning about how to introduce your students to computer science?
 
Join us for a workshop for 3rd-5th grade teachers. You will join teachers from Flagstaff Unified School District in a knowledge exchange aimed at enhancing and creating computer science curriculum that is culturally responsive to Native American students. At the end of the workshop series, you will have developed a 30-60 minute computer science  lesson for your students that is aligned with CSTA learning standards for grades 3-5. Participants will receive a complimentary CSTA+ membership and a stipend!

Start a Girls Who Code Club!

Inspire Coders of Tomorrow with Free Clubs Today. Girls Who Code Clubs for 3rd -12th graders:

  • Are completely free for students and schools.
  • Are split into two models, a book club model with computational thinking concepts for 3rd-5th graders and a coding club model for 6th-12th graders.
  • Are Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) standards-aligned.
  • Do NOT require any prior coding experience by the students or the facilitator.
  • Create a girls-supportive environment that welcomes students of any gender.
  • Provide a flexible curriculum with training and resources from our team.
