RIC GenCyber is the first and only GenCyber camp in Rhode Island. Since it is fully sponsored by the NSA and NSF, it is free of charge.

Who should apply: If you are a rising high school Junior or Senior interested in learning about cybersecurity, we want you! No experience necessary.

We will meet between 8:30-4:30 on July 8-12, 2019. To attend the camp, you must commit to being on campus during this time. Campers must provide their own transportation to and from camp and must commit to being on-time. Bus tickets are also available free of charge. Breakfast, lunch and other goodies will be provided. This year we have chosen the following topics:

  • Staying Safe Online/Cyberbullying
  • Cryptography
  • Steganography
  • Virtual Environments
  • Building Raspberry PIs
  • Learning Python
  • Binary/Hexidecimal

Each lesson has something for everyone. We offer a combination of individual, pair/small group and whole class instruction. We offer a combination of hands-on activities and unplugged computer activities that students enjoy.
