There are several issues that all distribution teams need to know about or they may face problems down the road. Some key concerns which will be reviewed: air in and out of pipelines, pressure reducing/sustaining, level control, velocity of pipeline and rate of flow.

his short seminar will give operation and maintenance personnel a basic understanding of the application, installation and maintenance of control valves. It will introduce new product innovations and electronics and give attendees a general overview on how control valves operate and how to adjust and troubleshoot valves.

Distribution lines can develop accumulations that have a negative impact on water quality, fire flows, and distribution system efficiency. Additionally, oversized water mains and dead ends can make it difficult to maintain desired chlorine residuals. The speaker will present on the importance of implementing an appropriate flushing program as well as the numerous benefits and opportunities.
 
2:15 pm – 3:15 pm - LC Campbell-City of Lynchburg Water Resources Safety Specialist – Trenching and Shoring
Cover safety protocols imposed by OSHA are supposed to reduce the accidents; however, there are high risk factors associated with trench excavations. This presentation will explain the reasons why hazards and injuries happen in the field due to the lack of a predictive and preventive application of trench excavation.
