The UN’s theme for this year is “Water for Peace”, focusing on the critical role water plays in the stability and prosperity of the world. First, remind your Club of the realities of the global water situation. UN 2022 statistics show:
2.2 billion people lacked safely managed drinking water
2.4 billion people live in water-stressed countries
81% of species dependent on inland wetlands have declined since 1970

- If your club already has a WASH project – use World Water Day to tell your community and raise funds for it.
- Encourage your community to clean up local streams, creeks, rivers, etc. Maybe your Club can adopt a stream?
- If your club is in a District with a WASH-RAG Ambassador, contact them to identify a speaker who can talk to your club about all the WASH support we can provide (Go to Ambassador List to check).
- No Ambassador? Contact us at executivesecretary@wash-rag.org. We may be able to help identify someone in your area.
Recordings of previous presentations at our World Water Summits are available on our website ( WASH-RAG.org ). Viewing a session at your club meeting can be used to promote discussion on WASH.
