Five Minnesota students were selected as National Honorable Mention recipients of the NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Award.
The Minnesota State IT Center of Excellence partners with many businesses, schools, and organizations to inspire, engage, and empower high school students to become our next, best Minnesota-grown technology talent. This is the 10th year the Minnesota Aspirations in Computing Awards Program (MNAiC), working under the umbrella of the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT), offering the opportunity for students in high school who identify as female, genderqueer, or non-binary to be recognized for their computing-related prowess. We’re delighted to announce five students who were selected as National Honorable Mention recipients. This award tier recognizes high-achieving students selected to represent the rich diversity of applicants. They fall in the top 10% of approximately 4,500 award applicants.
Sophie Bingen – Senior, Maple Grove Senior High School – previously honored as a 2021 state winner, and 2020 state honorable mention
Annika Heieie – Junior, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa High School – also honored as a 2022 state winner, previously honored as a 2021 Rising Star and 2020 Certificate of Distinction recipient
Grace N – Senior, Math and Science Academy – also honored as a 2022 state winner, previously honored as a 2021 state honorable mention
Sreeyutha Ratala – Senior, Edina High School – previously honored as a 2021 state winner
Adele Snyder – Junior, Edina High School – also honored as a 2022 state winner
