The CS Teaching Excellence Awards are designed to recognize outstanding teaching by K–12 computer science teachers. Winners excel in inspiring students to explore the computer science field, engaging students in learning rigorous standards-aligned computer science content, and broadening the participation of underrepresented students in computing. CSTA will select at least three K-5 CS teachers and three 6-8 teachers of the ten national winners. These awards were made possible by a grant from Infosys Foundation USA. Applications are due February 8, 2021.

The CS Teaching Excellence Awards is composed of the following:
 
1. Part one includes completing three essay questions and has a deadline of February 8. Applicants will be notified if they are selected to proceed to part two of the application in mid-February 2021. 
 
2. Part two includes submitting a CS teaching artifact, having a supervisor submit a recommendation form, and completing three-four essays. This part of the application will open in late February 2021.
 
The application is open until February 8, 2021. To apply for the award, please follow these steps:
  1. Go to the application website.
  2. Select, "submit application."
  3. Create a Cvent account with your email address. You will need to create a new account even if you have previously attended an event or submitted an application with CSTA.
  4. Follow application prompts, and fill out all required information, including the consent form. 
  5. You will receive a confirmation message when submitted.
