The Vergnano Institute of Inclusion formerly Engineering Diversity & Outreach Center would like to invite you to the 3rd annual Sisters in STEM Conference on Thursday March 31st. The Sisters in STEM Conference is a virtual one-day conference aimed at exposing young 10th-grade Black, Latinx and Indigenous women who are largely underrepresented in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology to the various STEM fields.
Research shows that when young, minority women see themselves represented in science and engineering fields, there's a greater likelihood they will pursue STEM careers in the future. Through self-development workshops and STEM Demonstrations, students will be introduced to various STEM concepts, learn about the different career pathways in the STEM fields, and develop a stronger sense of self as they engage in conversations about identity, the importance of mental health, college admissions and much more.
The conference will occur on March 31st from 8:00am- 2:00pm and will be led by some of the brightest undergraduate and graduate women in STEM. There is no additional cost to attend this conference. The conference is free, and your school's participation will be crucial and beneficial to making this conference a success. To register for the conference, please use this link attached below.
