Effective communication can be a challenge on a good day. Throw in a pandemic, changing workforces, schedules, and locations, and maintaining effective communications with your customers becomes even more difficult and critical. Join RVAH2O and Lynchburg Water Resources as they delve into tried and true ways to communicate internally and externally.

Take a trip to Richmond and along the City’s floodwall in the first portion of this VA AWWA communications webinar. We’ll see how RVAH2O (the moniker used by Richmond’s Stormwater Utility) used social media in an unusual and effective way to promptly inform the public about flooding within the James River basin, provide education about stormwater, and flood mitigation efforts, and shape media stories.

We all know that internal communications are important to make sure water utility employees stay in the know. But what happens when employees are cut off from the communication flow? Thanks, Covid! Employees are scattered working from wherever they can and spread out in the fields. Join us to see how Lynchburg Water Resources made sure their employees were kept informed, held safety meetings, and trainings while maintaining all Covid safety protocols.
