The Duke University Water Innovation Leadership Development (WILD) Program is accepting applications now through Sunday, May 1, 2022. The WILD program is a cohort-based professional development experience created for water utility managers by the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. Full scholarships are available to all program participants. Fellows will be able to participate in all program activities without any cost to themselves or their utility.

This executive education program will equip early-to-mid-career water managers with the skills needed to forge innovative solutions to the challenges faced by water and wastewater utilities today. From September 2022 - February 2023, fellows will explore a personal leadership style, improve their capacity to advance equity within water utilities, and increase their awareness of new tools and resources for individual and team use. Fellows will join an expanded network of partners and allies across the United States. The program covers a wide range of concerns, including change management, team building, innovation, internal and external communication, goal setting, and equity.

Fellows will earn a Certificate of Completion from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment upon completing the program. To accommodate fellows’ work schedules, much of the transformative leadership training is taught online through monthly evening sessions; the program also includes two in-person weekend workshops at Duke University.

We seek to build a cohort that reflects leaders of diverse geographies, identities, and communities. We strongly encourage candidates who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and other candidates from communities underrepresented in the water sector.

We invite you to encourage any outstanding rising utility managers in your network to apply. If you’d like to share the opportunity with others, we welcome you to repost our announcement on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. You may share the informational attachments and visit the WILD Program website for more details and the application link. Apply by Sunday, May 1.
