Southeast Rural Community Assistance Program (SERCAP) along with its partner the Virginia Section of the American Water Works Association (VA AWWA) invites representatives of Small Community Water Systems (fewer than 10,000 persons served), to a FREE one-day workshop on Compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act.
Your utility faces day-to-day challenges providing reliable, safe drinking water for your customers while voiding costly violations.  This FREE one-day workshop is offered to help your utility learn about compliance with drinking water regulations and steps to avoid those costly violations.

Attend this workshop, and you will be able to:
  • Achieve and maintain compliance with drinking water regulations and avoid costly violations;
  • Apply a multiple barrier approach for prevention of microbial contaminants;
  • Manage distribution system infrastructure and disinfectant residuals to prevent microbial contamination;
  • Optimize treatment plant and distribution system operations to minimize DBP formation;
  • Evaluate the most appropriate in -plant or distribution system treatment alternative that helps minimize DBP formation; and 
  • Describe the importance of the distribution system in maintaining water quality.
