The VA AWWA Education Committee has assembled a webinar that focuses on the removal of manganese through the water treatment process. This webinar will be broken into 3 parts:
- The first presentation will provide a general introduction on the importance of manganese control, followed by a discussion on proven manganese removal approaches used in water treatment systems.
- The second presentation will provide an overview of the recently completed Water Research Foundation Project #4749, which focused on optimizing biological manganese removal under cold-water conditions.
- The final block will be an Open Forum where attendees can raise specific manganese issues that they are dealing with, and the team will discuss possible approaches to address.
